The Paul Kircher Show Radio Time Capsule Brought to you by:
***NEWSFLASH*** Friends, This is Paul Kircher speaking...as of July 2005 I've taken a break from the radio program to devote my full time into a separate business venture. I've teamed up with my family and am now working to build Kircher Entertainment into the best mobile entertainment company in the area. It has become a full time endeavor, however I have every intention of coming back to talk radio based in the Philadelphia area after I've reached my goals with the new business.
What's a mobile entertainment business you ask? It's DJ and / or Karaoke services provided for private parties and events of all kinds, including steady gigs at various bars and clubs around town. So if you can't catch me on the air for a while be sure to chat me up on the street, in the bars and at the events and parties! This website will remain functional and you can always reach me through here. Thanks to everyone who listened and enjoyed the shows and to all the great guests we had over the years, and of course to Rodney Anonymous, who I hope will be my close to full time co-host when I return. So enjoy the Pasts Guests section and if you need a DJ or Karaoke night with the best sound and best equipment in the area, not to mention ME! Send an email to paul@paulkircher.com and we can talk. Keep in touch! Cheers, Paul Click on the Date to Listen to the Show! |

David Skeel - S. Samuel Arsht Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School discusses recent events in the Enron/WorldCom corporate scandals, and his new book Icarus in the Board Room, which compares corporate scandals in American history, and specifically a local corporate scandal in the 1800's when Philadelphia banker Jay Cooke, regarded a national hero for inventing a technique for selling war bonds door-to-door to average Americans, jumped into the railroad financing business. After initial successes with his innovative methods, Cooke took on financing the Northern Pacific railroad. Cooke took on more and more risk as no one wanted to take on the bonds, and Cooke took on stock as commission payments. His bank was by this time also the controlling shareholder. Meanwhile, other firms had caught up to Cooke's methods, loosening his dominance of the industry. Even as his own partners urged him to get out, he used financial shell games in an attempt to stem the inevitable collapse. The collapse did come, the bank was so overextended that it couldn't cover its own deposits. The resulting scandal led to the depression known as the 1873 Panic. Rich Laventhal- Former Spokesman for the Department of Justice and Director of Communications for the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Craig Smith- CEO Swiss America www.swissamerica.com discusses REGANOMICS During the interview Craig argues that the Reaganomics of our 40th President set the stage for the major growth of the 90's, but not without a fair amount of pain to see the eventual gain. Smith said "Reaganomics" appears to be the model that Bush is following so far with his massive tax cuts and defense spending boosts. However, unlike Reagan, so far Bush has not made the major spending cuts, interest rate increases or inflation fighting. Craig cites this as the primary difference between Reagan and Bush. He tells Paul that Reagan was willing to make hard choices that required Americans to sacrifice, but Bush knows that today Americans are spoiled with cheap money and a return to the discipline of pure Reaganomics could easily cost him the election.Rush Limbaugh- Special Surprise guest |
